Dimensions (inches):
  Width:   11.5
  Height:   10.2
  Depth:   3.4
Materials:   Turned from splalted sycamore.

Front view.
This piece was turned in two pieces.  The pieces were joined together, opening cut, carved, sanded, sanded, sanded, and sanded and after the finish was applied the conventional zipper was installed in the opening.

Rear view.
The inner circular portion is part of the rear piece.
I was inspired by Steven Hogbins style.

Judges Comments
Clay : A great example of how forethought combined with imagination produces really strong designs. An artist working with something in mind produces mindful work.
Jacques : Excellent work!!! Take it a step further and carve the zipper instead of adding real ones......beautiful surface undulation.
John : Nicely made piece, but it seems a little flat on the front and back. I like humor, but I'm not sure I get the point of the zipper, but you clearly had a plan.
